" I am privileged to be a son of the soil and grateful that I was born. I am the third son of Mr. and Mrs. Azeez. I was named Anil Azeez according to the religious backgrounds I was born into. Anil - of Hindu origin in accordance with my mothers religion and Azeez an origin of the Muslim background which came from my late father a Muslim by birth. I was born and raised in Guyana - Land of many waters in the county of Essequibo on the Coast mostly where I was privileged to have attained all of my education and training.
My life as a youth growing up in such a simple and decent society was very different from that of an average child in that county. I was what one would call a nuisance to society. I did everything contrary to what was lawfully accepted. I started smoking and drinking at a very tender age. As I grew the habits grew also. In my teenage years I was deemed an alcoholic and drug addict. I later began to sell guns and young girls to sailors. My life was a total mess and I was always too high to even think of my situation.
Things became so repetitive at home so I later migrated to a neighbouring Island called Cow Island where I took my bad behaviour with me. Little did I know this would be the place of my deliverance. While in Cow Island, I heard of a Crusade and went with the intention of meeting with the pretty girls who were only allowed to attend religious activities. There I was with my own plans not knowing God had a different plan in mind. That night as Pastor Paul Lachan made the alter call I walked straight to the front of the stage where I met with God. As they prayed for me I was immediately stripped of my bondages and filled with the Spirit of God. That was the beginning of a new life for me.
I went back to my home County a changed person and later migrated to the beautiful garden city of Georgetown. In Georgetown I attended First Assembly of God Church where I was fathered by Reverend Raphael Messiah. Every sermon he carried was an encouragement for me and made me thirst for more of what God had to offer. I began to hear the voice of God and He wanted to use me. He had blessed me with the talent of singing and wanted me to use my voice to take the Gospel to the World. At that point of my life I had my own plans but I was willing to obey Gods word and follow as did the disciples when God said to them in Matthew 4:19 Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.
I was given the opportunity to perform at a Talent Fest at my church and was granted the favor of God. At the age of twenty I began singing Gospel Chutney in Church. With Gods favor I was able to produce my music. While I waited for further direction from God concerning the music He allowed me to make He allowed me to become a part of the churchs intercessory prayer group. This made it easier to communicate with God.
Today I am twenty six years old and God has allowed me the opportunity to have released three Gospel Chutney Albums. I am also given the opportunity to share my testimony with millions around the world and minister to them. I am very thankful for what God has done for me and I am proud to say that I am still trusting in God and eagerly waiting for what he has in store for me. I encourage all according to Matt.6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. "
